If you frequent Starwood Hotels and Resorts and have excellent credit, consider applying for the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express. Cardholders can earn three points for every dollar spent at Starwood Hotels and Resorts as well as one point for every dollar spent on all other purchases. The first time the card is used at a Starwood Hotel, cardholders will get 1,000 bonus points and 500 more bonus points for every stay after that, up to 12 stays a year. Cardholders will also get 4,000 bonus points the first time the card is used on any purchase. Points never expire so long as the card is still in use within any one year period. Cardholders also have the option to use their card in conjunction with frequent flier programs. Points can be traded in for miles and then be redeemed for flights. Additionally, cardholders will also have their annual fee for the card waived for the first year.
