For many students, the Discover Student Card can be a great choice when applying for a credit card. The card is a cash back reward program card, with a variety of ways to gain rewards. Cardholders can earn 5% cash back in a variety of categories that change throughout the year, 5-20% cash back on purchases made through the ShopDiscover site, and 1% back on all other purchases. There is also the possibility of earning double rewards when the cash back rewards are used to purchase gift cards from over 80 retailers and restaurants. These rewards are unlimited and do not expire as long as the card remains in use. Students can not only benefit from the rewards program, but also from the easy online access, email reminders, no annual fee, and fraud protection programs that come standard with the card.
