Students can build credit and learn to use their card responsibly all while earning great rewards. The rewards program associated with the card gives students 5% cash back on all gas and auto maintenance purchases. There is a variable rate on general purchases which ranges from .25% to 1% depending on the spending level of the card. Cash back rebates can be redeemed for double their value with Discover Card partners or taken as cash rewards at face value. There is no annual fee for this reward card, and students can feel more secure using a card that provides online account access, fraud protection and email reminders of card due dates.
