Students looking to get their first credit card should consider the Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students. The card has a generous rewards program, with five points per dollar being earned on purchases at movie theaters, restaurants, bookstores and on video rentals, as well as one point per dollar on all other purchases. The card also helps encourage students to make payments on time with a 25-point reward each time payments are made in a timely manner and stay within the set credit limit. Additionally, students can earn more points by getting good grades, as points are rewarded based on their GPA twice a year. These points can be redeemed for MTV getaways, gift cards, music and merchandise. There is no annual fee for the card, and students will be able to take advantage of the introductory interest offer.
